Tabarca Island: Paradise Until the Pills Kicked In
Tabarca is the little island off the coast near Alicante – a short boat ride out to clear water, an old walled village, and the feel of somewhere time forgot. It started as close to a perfect day trip as you can get. Then a small personal mishap turned things sideways.
A walled island in the Med
Tabarca is the only inhabited island in the Valencian Community, ringed by a marine reserve and a set of eighteenth-century walls. It is tiny – you can walk it end to end in minutes – which makes it the kind of place you go to slow right down. Most of the day lived up to that; the rest you’ll have to watch for yourself.
